We had never seen a Green Heron in the wild here in Florida until a couple of weeks ago. (well, not that we could positively identify )
First we saw one at Homosassa Wildlife Park but it was not ‘in the wild’ there.
A few days later we hiked at Blue Run Park and got the thrill of a lifetime!
There was a Green Heron in the swamp.
One that didn’t mind posing for us.
Well, maybe he was even a bit of a ham!
Then lo and behold, we saw one at Rainbow Springs State Park IN THE WILD!
Isn’t that funny how we finally saw one…
then two…
then three!
I guess that’s our lucky number now!
