Review: Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette and 6 Makeup Looks

Hey Beauties!

Zoeva seriously impressed me with their eye shadow palette. It offers a really good quality (the best I own so far) for a very affordable price. If you're searching for good eye shadows that won't make you wallet cry, look no further.

The palette is in a cardboard packaging, which really surprised me. Brands love to flaunt their super shiny black sleek packaging, but not Zoeva. I'm not sure if this is intentional, or if it's a way of cutting down the costs. I've seen that the palette can break with travel, so be sure to carry it around in the second sleeve, which is open from the sides and allows you to put the palette in and make it a tad more secure for travel.

Design reminds me of The Great Gatsby movie for some reason. It has a nice color combination with taupe base and gold design. It closes with the magnet and you get it with a transparent foil as a protection over the eye shadows.

In it is 10 different eye shadows, each has 1.5 grams and the palette costs 17.50€ (here). I actually got it for only 15€ and something (discounts on Douglas, thank you Kvina).

The feel of this palette is neutral warm shades with a few pops of colors. 4 shades are matte and 6 shades are shimmery. The names are also cute and cocoa inspired.

Matte eye shadows are a bit dusty and need to be build up more. The texture is powdery and dry. That doesn't mean the quality is bad, because all eye shadows are amazingly pigmented, it's just the difference between mattes and shimmery ones. Shimmery shades are extremely pigmented and have almost creamy formula. If you use your fingers and swirl it in the palette, it feels like a cream.

Bitter Start - warm matte beige.
Sweeter End - duo-chrome warm shimmery light pink with gold sheen.
Warm Notes - warm shimmery cranberry pink red.
Subtle Blend - warm shimmery bronze brown.
Beans Are White - matte cool very dark brown.
Pure Ganache - warm shimmery yellow toned copper.
Substitute For Love - warm yellow toned light brown.
Freshly Toasted - warm matte red toned medium brown.
Infusion - cool very dark brown with big gold shimmer.
Delicate Acidity - cool shimmery brown toned purple.

Quality of these eye shadows is superb. Mattes are a bit more dusty and need to be build up because they do loose a bit of intensity with blending. Shimmery shades are insanely pigmented and if you apply them on with fingers or slightly wet brush, the shades are super intense. They are all easy to blend and buildable. On me they last the whole day and the intensity is pretty much the same, maybe slightly less vibrant. They might go a bit into the crease at the end of the day, depending on if I worked out that day or how sweaty I got. I always use Avon Ideal Flawless primer underneath my eye shadows. I also love the fact that there is very little to no fallout with these - mattes have a bit of fallout. because of the texture.

In general I am very impressed with this eyeshadow palette, The shades are warmer and very much of my taste. The quality is amazing, as well as the price. It's the best eye shadow palette that I own (I don't have any higher end palettes yet). I highly recommend it. Now I want some more. I just wish they had more colorful palettes. I have so many neutrals and really want some good quality pops of colors. The next on my wish list are Mixed Metals and Love Is a Story.
