Last Saturday, I had the chance to check out Factory Fashion Show that was held at The Last Hotel in St Louis. It was created and produced by Kristin Helena Johnson. Below are pics and recap from the "fashionalia."

After I received my press pass, me and several others who were entering were escorted to the elevator to the 10th floor for the event. And when I got there, the mix of people were moderate. It was a nice set up with couches and tables for people to lounge, two steps and repeats, one for the public and the other with their hired photographer. They also had a booth with a free raffle for free tickets to Mother Model Managements The Event fashion show.
People were also in line for drinks and beer at the cash bar area but I decided not to stand in line and to just mingle about throughout the rooms.

There were six fashion segments that were featured: One was Factory Future by Stephens College students Jillian Turner, Samantha Knaust, Rose Carter, Catherine Hake and Madeline Buasri
Next up was House of Nailah by Nyla Coleman
Next was Jordan Khusnulgatin
Next was Ying Ying Ying by Elise Edman and James Couldright
Next was Q Liu
Next was Nasheli Juliana (MY FAVE) who had 3D glasses for the VIPs to see her 3D clothing
Overall the fashion show was quite good. I would say about 200 people were there to attend. The only drawback was the extremely bright light near the end of the runway that was blinding (Good thing I had my sunglasses on!). The highlight for me was Nashali Juliana whose concept of 3D and the finale with the models raising their fist in Black Power was quite exhilarating!
After the show, people with VIP and Second Row wristbands were given access to the rooftop for the after party where most of the designers and models hung out to chill out. I attended it and below are some pics from it.
The after party was OK. Most of the event dwellers left but those who hung out were enjoying the breeze on beach chairs and near the outside fireplace with couches. Now my only thing was, with this being a party for VIPs there were no VIP luxuries like free appetizers or a comped drink. They had a bar and restaurant there but when I saw the menu for food items and getting drink, one would have been out at least $30 and thats not the total after anyone who paid for a drink during the actual event.
I stayed for about 30 minutes, and exited onward to see if I could get into the Erykah Badu concert at Chaifetz Arena.......
15 minutes later....
When I got the Chaifetz, I decided to see if I could get access to check out some of the concert. I was met by some of the security who took me to the hosting area to get access to the concert. Meanwhile I was checking out Erykah on the TV monitors in the lobby area. I was met by a director from Chaifetz who said that they didnt have media passes for reviewing for the show. I was like, "Really?" I didnt make a fuss over it and decided to go ahead and leave because it wasnt that serious for the extra hoops and hurdles to try and get access to the concert that had already started (Erykah was actually late getting on stage) which was after 10pm.
So I decided to get some quick food at Rallys (Dont judge me. lol) and head to the Maatspear Compound.
On Sunday, I had shot a model, Nick King, for the 2020 OBSDN Calendar at the Maatology Studios. For those who keep up with the blog, King was one of the models at Gloveboxx's Septemberotica event at Third Degree Glass Factory where ladies were painting on his upper body. I will have more info about the calendar soon!

Survivors Celebrate Victory As Models For Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A cash bar is available, as well as an opportunity to win and bid on fantastic items in the raffle and silent auction. St Louis native Joel P.E. King has an Acting Course. It’s for children and adults. The times and days are as follow:
October 21st - 26th
Monday thru Friday
Children/Young Adults: 4:30pm - 6:30pm (early arrivals are welcomed)
Adults/Seniors: 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Saturday classes are from 11 - 3pm
6pm begins the Culminating Show on that day. It’s the public performance to showcase what you have learned for the week.
Price: $75 (secures the entire week-you choose your days of participation)

For this week, I have one
Recently,
I went to Schnucks Market in Hazelwood to pick up a few items after hitting the gym. I wa s in the wine section of the store and they had a sale on wine that were in shopping baskets. So, as I was perusing through the wine. A guy carted up to me and asked, " Excuse me, could you tell me if they sell coffee pots here?"
I looked up slowly and wanted to say, "Motha fucka do I look like I work here?"
Now mind you, I looked a step up from looking like a bum in a backwards cap and no where near looking like an employee.
But I just said, "I don't know if they do. You may have to talk to a manager."
Then he said, "Oh OK, because I am not from here," and carted off.
I then wanted to say, "And where is that, Earth?"
Then I asked myself, "Do they sell coffee pots?"
LOL
